Nathan Wendt

Nathan joined the EastWest Institute in 2008, initially in the Executive Office.  Prior to joining the Institute, Nathan worked with the Synergos Institute in New York, NY (2004-2005), before spending time in India as a tsunami relief volunteer.  Nathan has worked in southern Africa conducting public-private partnership entrepreneurship solutions research in Maputo, Mozambique through Eduardo Mondlane University (2006), as a responsible sourcing consultant for Fortune 500 clients in China (2007), and as a microfinance research fellow with FINCA International in Zambia and Malawi (2007).  In mid 2008, Nathan worked for the Obama Presidential Campaign in Montana.  In 2009, he worked as a Technical Assistance Consultant for the Gorongosa Restoration Project/Carr Foundation in central Mozambique. 

Nathan’s core interests are in economic security and development, African affairs and entrepreneurship.  Nathan holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a MBA in International Business from Baruch College, City University of New York.  He speaks proficient Portuguese and some Swahili.
