Graham Webster was a Public Policy and Communications Officer at the EastWest Institute's New York Center.

Graham had previously worked as a journalist, writing for The Boston Globe, Talking Points Memo, CNET, the San Jose Mercury News, Editor & Publisher, Art Asia Pacific, and others. As a nonprofit political communicator, he has served as an editor and organizer at the Center for American Progress in Washington, a consultant to the Natural Resources Defense Council’s China Program in Beijing, and a contractor with The National Bureau of Asian Research in Seattle.

Graham is an experienced analyst of Chinese politics and technology, including the online public sphere, cybersecurity, and e-government. He has presented papers at the annual meetings of the Association for Asian Studies and the International Studies Association.

He holds a B.S. in journalism and international studies from Northwestern University and an A.M. in East Asian studies from Harvard University. He has also studied East Asian politics, history, and languages at the University of Washington, Kanda University of International Studies, Stanford University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. In order of proficiency, he works in English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish.
