Christopher LaBianco Leads EWI's Development Efforts

Christopher LaBianco now heads EWI's Development Department serving as the Vice President of Development.

"The EastWest Institute is honored to have Chris LaBianco join us as our vice president for Development," COO William Parker said. "Chris brings over 20 years of philanthropic fundraising experience to this already experienced team."

LaBianco joins EWI having served as the Regional Chief Development Officer for the American Red Cross, for the Greater New York region, as well as the Chief Development Officer for the USA Swimming Foundation, one of the United States Olympic Committees top sport governing bodies. He is also a former Managing Director and founding partner of the New York City based fundraising and philanthropic services firm, Changing Our World. 

"I'm thrilled to be part of the EWI team," LaBianco said. "Our work is now more crucial than ever."

LaBianco brings two decades of development experience and expertise to EWI. As a fundraising professional, he has a distinguished track record of successful partnerships across the not-for-profit sector having worked with healthcare, faith based, social service, and trade associations. He most recently led the Greater New York American Red Cross Region during Super-storm Sandy, raising more than $75M for relief and recovery efforts for the victims of the storm.

LaBianco served on the United States Senate staff of New Jersey's Senator Frank Lautenberg, as well as New Jersey's United States House of Representatives staff of Congressmen Herbert Klein, and Congressman Robert Torricelli, in Washington, D.C., handling legislative and constituent matters. He also served New Jersey's residents of the Borough of Leonia, as an elected Councilman, an office he held for seven years.
