EWI Delegates Meet with China Association for International Friendly Contact

On March 19, 2018, a delegation from the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) met with EWI’s President and CEO Ambassador Cameron Munter and representatives from the EastWest Institute Asia-Pacific (AP) program for an engaging discussion on U.S.-China relations and emerging economic and security challenges.

The CAIFC delegation was led by Ambassador Cheng Guoping, vice president of CAIFC and the state commissioner for Counter-Terrorism and Security Affairs of China. Other CAIFC delegates included Wang Jianrui, director of the European Affairs Department; Liu Chenzi, program director of the American and Oceanian Affairs Department and Han Xin, program director of the American and Oceanian Affairs Department. Ambassador Munter along with Dr. Lora Saalman, vice president of the AP program, led the EWI delegation. Other EWI participants included Zoe Leung, Natalie Pretzer-Lin, Jace White and Farwa Aamer.
