
Online Voting is Easy Target for Hackers

EWI Senior Vice President Bruce McConnell and Verified Voting Foundation President Pamela Smith write an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, arguing online voting is far from secure and susceptible to numerous security issues. McConnell manages EWI's Cooperation in Cyberspace Program, which includes its Worldwide Cybersecurity Initiative.
“Online voting is fraught with danger. Hackers could manipulate enough votes to change the results of local and national elections. And a skilled hacker can do so without leaving any evidence,” McConnell and Smith state in their article.
