Angelica Austin worked with EWI's Policy Innovation team in Brussels. As an independent research economist with nine years professional experience in several countries she specializes in Asian energy and regulatory economics. Angie worked on Chinese and US energy interests in Africa in the broader context of global resource security.

Angelica Austin is the co-author of an EWI policy paper on US-China energy interests in Africa and the Persian Gulf, and has spoken at several EWI events, including at the Worldwide Security Conference 5. She was a speaker at the energy seminar EWI held in Turkey, in January 2008, joined by leading US firms and a Turkish Deputy Minister. She has published a number of studies on Asian energy. Her most important publication, Energy and Power in China (2005), is widely cited and was most recently cited in an MIT Working paper as a primary source on China's energy sector reform (see http://web.mit.edu/ceepr/www/publications/workingpapers/2008-001.pdf).
